This guy looks like the total opposite of a gang member.
If anything he looks like he'd have ended up more like you if he hadn't sold himself off to a gang.
The game screen flashes with bright and disorienting colors. The letters of the title, POLYBIUS, drop down from the top of the screen, and spin before remaining static.
Two triangles appear on screen, assumedly player avatars. The triangles continually shrink into themselves while at the same time remaining the same size. It hurts to look at.
The bullets fired by the player triangles are occasionally replaced by letters that spell words in sequence.

Eventually, the squares are too plentiful for either player to keep up with.

As they hit the bottom of the screen the background begins flashing slower and slower, with fewer and fewer colors. Instead, strange and disorienting black and white patterns begin flying across the screen.
As Jack and Phrygia unwillingly let more and more squares reach the bottom, they begin to notice less and less of the world around them. Sounds outside of the machine dampen in their minds. Their vision focuses on the game and their peripheral vision darkens.
